Keeping up with the Books.

My sister did this is groups of 10 over at http://www.200books.com/, but I found 7’s to work better for me.
I’ve been slogging through some books that are slow going for me, but I’m coming to the end and I’m ready to start the next batch! The “7 books I’m going to read next” might be interlaced with books I own that I haven’t read yet. I need to buy all of the “going to read” list but one, and I think it would be better to spread the cost out a bit. In fact, I’m just going to add them to the bottom of the list.

(The Poorly named) Seven Books I always re-read:
(I just kept going…)Jane Eyre
A Girl of the Limberlost
The Blue Castle
The Scarlet Pimpernel
Ivanhoe
Sense and Sensibility
The Chronicles of Narnia
C.S. Lewis’ Space trilogy
The Man who was Thursday
Seven Books I am going to read next:
John Milton- Paradise lost
Emily Bronte- Whuthering Heights
St. Augustine- The Confessions
Dante- The Inferno
C.S. Lewis- Till we have Faces
Winifred Watson- Miss Pettigrew lives for a day
Plato- The Republic
Seven Books I own but haven’t read:
Essential Thinkers– Aristotle
Cyrano de Bergerac– Edmond Rostand
The Knight– Gene Wolf
Raw Materials– Dorothy Canfield
Sons and Lovers– D.H. Lawrence
Orthodoxy– Chesterton
Beowulf
Seven Books I think everyone should read:
Jane Eyre– Because it’s amazing.
Shakespeare– All of them.
Jane Austen– Also all of them.
C.S. Lewis’ Space trilogy– Each of them are awesome, and each in different ways.
The Princess Bride– Even better than the movie!!!
The Phantom the of the Opera– Only scary book I’ve ever liked. Just read it during the day.
The Cloister Walk– Beautiful and makes you think!
